British Values
At The Rugby and The Dunchurch Montessori Nursery Schools, we understand the importance of embedding British Values into your little ones everyday lives whilst at Nursery. By doing this, we are encouraging your little ones to have a strong sense of self, understanding that their opinions and their friends opinions matter. That they belong to a wider world and that its important to learn boundaries. We want your little ones to feel respected but to also respect those around them too.
THE BRITISH VALUES ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Democracy is a great example, as the children interact with one another throughout the day and have a chance to strengthen their Personal, Social and Emotional Development through discussion and play. Meaning they develop skills such as - sharing, decision making and turn taking.
We display lots of visual reminders around our Nurseries and encourage your little ones to always follow 'Our British Values' as an important part of our Nursery life.
We further embed British Values into your little ones everyday lives, through various cultural celebrations from all around the World but also fundamental British holidays and events too.
CELEBRATING KING CHARLES III CORONATION
The children at the Rugby Montessori Nursery school celebrated King Charles III Coronation.
In Bambinis the children joined in lots of red, white and blue activities, they filled up their red cups with blue and white rice and decorated their own crowns and proudly worn these at the nursery garden tea party.
In Buttercups and Daisies the children explored red, white and blue playdough and tried to make the Great Britain flag, they explored spaghetti with a variety pictures of all things royal and we created our very own crown using glitter and some even had dinosaur stickers. Some of the children took part in a special Coronation Drama Tots session.
In Stepping Stones the children had a lovely time celebrating the Kings coronation by taking part in many different activities. The children made sausage rolls, potato salad, sandwiches, and cakes for the whole nursery to enjoy eating at our tea party. The children used spoons to transfer red, white and blue rice from a tuff tray to golden goblets. They also had the Royal Family joining them in the garden
We all celebrated King Charles Coronation by enjoying a tea party out in the garden. It was fit for a King!

Celebrating the QUEEN'S JUBILEE
During the week of the Queen's Jubilee the children in Stepping Stones listened to stories and looked through books about Queen Elizabeth and this opened up conversations about the Royal Family.
In Bambinis the children played with red, white and blue playdough and used lots of different red, white and blue objects to make marks in their playdough.
In Buttercups and Daisies the children used lots of black and red paint to create their own carboard soldier.
The children at the Rugby Montessori Nursery School celebrated the Queen's Jubilee by holding a garden tea party. Throughout the week the children were busy making decorations, crowns and on the day they made their own sandwiches.
