Parents As Partners
The Rugby Montessori Nursery School actively encourages parents/carers to be involved with their child’s nursery experience, because when Parents and Practitioners work together in a setting the results have a positive impact on children’s learning and development
At The Rugby Montessori Nursery School we believe in Parents as Partners and that families are the child’s first, and most enduring educators.
Initially, we encourage parents to look around the nursery with their child before registering for a place.
Once registered we contact new parents to arrange some a 'New Starter Pack' visit, followed by some "settling in sessions", or a 'Baby Diary' visit for Bambinis, followed up by some settling in sessions.
Every child has an Early Learning Journal, and this contains all the detailed information needed. This is constantly updated with our ‘All about Me’ forms which we ask Parents to fill in.
Bambinis parents are given a Daily Diary Sheet at the end of each session informing parents of what their little one has been up to that day, along with food consumed and nappy changes.
Parents in Buttercups & Daisies and Stepping Stones receive verbal feedback at the end of the child's session from a member of staff that has spent the the day with them.
A daily instagram story is posted for each room /group for you to enjoy. This is a private closed group
Every month parents receive a digital copy of our Monthly Planning, detailing what their child will be learning across all seven area of the EYFS, Montessori Learning, Outdoor Learning, Key vocabulary, Core books, Makaton signs, Songs, Cookery and Key events.
Every month parents also receive a physical 'Monthly Observation', to ensure that parents remain up to date with their little ones learning and development.
When your little one joins the Nursery, you are welcome to telephone to find out how your little one is settling and we enjoy this opportunity to speak with parents / carers to reassure them.
Parents Evenings are held each term when parents are invited to come in and meet the staff, look through their child’s 'Early Learning Journal' and look around the nursery. We encourage Parents to contribute to their child’s Learning Journal by updating the Parents as Partners Sheet.
Throughout a child’s time at nursery it is emphasised that any problems or issues should be reported straight away, so that they can be addressed and never left until the next parents evening. We are always available to talk to.
The windows at the main entrance and Parents Notice Boards provide a useful source of information and this is constantly updated with Nursery news.
Both Parents and Practitioners are key people in building a child’s self- esteem and disposition and it is our whole aim to work with Parents as Partners.
