SEND Support

At The Rugby Montessori Nursery School Limited, we are committed to providing an inclusive learning environment for all of our little ones. We are currently have two appointed SENDCOs across both sites, all with relevant training and experience.

We work closely with all of our families in supporting their little ones whilst in our care. Achieving this through a variety of support plans, utilising external professionals and providing our parents with a wealth of information and resources provided to us by Warwickshire County Council.

Meet the SENDCOs

We frequent attend any Warwickshire update training and keep a close eye on the weekly Early Years Briefing for any new information on how to further support our little ones. We have a strong understanding of the correct procedures we must follow to ensure a timely referral is made and who to contact should these next steps need to be taken.

Our SENDCO team also work closely with all of our practitioners to quickly identify those who may need additional support achieving their learning goals.

Our Local Offer

Parent Partnership is at the forefront of our Nurseries priorities, especially during those early days. We do this through an initial visit to the nursery and completion of an information pack to ensure our practitioners, and your little ones' future key workers, have a secure understanding of how best to support your little one during their transition into nursery life.

We offer all of our new starters settling in sessions, to help them form bonds with their key people and new friends, as well as become accustomed to their new daily routines.

We complete ongoing monthly observations that are shared with our parents, as well as termly assessments to ensure that all of our little ones are developing in all areas of their learning. As our little one's transition through the nursery - we complete 'On Entry' and 'Leaving' profiles as part of our assessments.

In doing these continual observations and assessments, our practitioners are able to identify each child's individual needs and where additional support may be beneficial.

If we feel additional support is necessary, we arrange a meeting with the parents and our SENDCOs to discuss ways in which we can further support them. This may be in the form of support plans/strategies, or external agencies. All of course is done with parent consent and support.
