Safeguarding
The Rugby Montessori Nursery School are committed to building a culture of safety, in which children are protected from abuse and harm, radicalisation and extremism in all areas of its delivery.
Our DSL Team (Designated Safeguarding Leads) are Kelly Hibberd - Nursery Manager of our Vicarage Road Nursery, Miss Millie - Nursery Manager of our Dunchurch Nursery and Miss Jess, who is based at our Vicarage Road nursery.
All practitioners complete Safeguarding Level 2 training annually and our DSL'S complete more in depth training from our Local Authority and attend termly DSL Network meetings.
The DLS'S are the point of contact for all staff in the setting if they have a concern about a child. Our DSL'S also responsible for
- Updating and renewing safeguarding policies and procedures
- Identifying and completing their own CPD
- Cascading Safeguarding updates during Staff meetings
- Dealing with concerns about a child
- Reporting, storing and retaining child protection records following our policies and procedures.
- Liaising with other professionals and attending any Child Protection meetings
