Stepping Stones
Pre-School class for children 3-5 yrs
A Montessori School is a unique cycle of learning designed to take advantage of the child's sensitive years between three and six when he can absorb information from an enriched environment.
Our staff in Stepping Stones are Montessori trained and
qualified. The staffing ratio in the rooms is one teacher for eight children.
In Stepping Stones, our pre-school class, it is our aim is to give each child the confidence and skills which will prepare them for any easy transfer to their reception class and for their future.
In Stepping Stones, your child is free to discover and learn using the Montessori equipment
and the planned curriculum providing them with rich opportunities and allowing each child to move at their own pace.
We want them to enjoy achieving what they set out to do, encourage them to find new ways to do things, learn to problem solve and push boundaries and we want them to be confident enough to have a go and use their own ideas.
We have a group time, story time and singing every day, where all the children are encouraged to take part, where they learn to take turns, listen to each other and feel valued.

Outside play
We believe in fresh air and outside learning.
The outside play area is used as an extension
of the children's learning environment. We have a music making area, science area, large sandpit, water play, quiet book area, mud kitchen and dinosaur kingdom! We also have trikes, playhouse, and outside play equipment.
British Values
At the Rugby Montessori Nursery School we promote the five British Values through the curriculum, teaching the children from an early age about Democracy, Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect and Tolerance of different faiths and beliefs.
